About the C Harmonic Minor

Sound:

Minor mood (melancholic, introspective) plus tension / drama from the raised 7th
Can sound somewhat Middle‑Eastern / classical / Spanish / flamenco when used melodically

Structure:

The 3rd is minor, the 7th is major, that interval difference is what defines the scale
In many handpans, the raised 7th might appear as the note just below the root, or as a note that resolves nicely in melody.
