Welcome to MAG Instruments Kft. We appreciate your interest in our handcrafted handpans. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully as they outline your rights and obligations as a customer. By purchasing from us, you agree to abide by these terms.
1. General Information

- Governing Law: These terms are governed by Hungarian and European Union laws.
2. Products and Services
- MAG Instruments specializes in the crafting and sale of premium-quality musical instruments.
- Our products are available for global purchase.
3. Payment Terms
- Accepted Payment Methods: Bank transfer, cash, and card payment.
- Currencies: EUR, USD, HUF.
- Registration Designing Fee Policy: For all ordered handpans, a registration designing fee of 1,000 EUR is required to confirm the order. In accordance with EU regulations, customers have the right to cancel their order within 14 days of paying this registration designing fee for a full refund. The remaining balance is due upon completion of the instrument, subject to cleared payment before shipment.
4. Shipping, Delivery, and Initial Insurance
- Shipping Partners: We ship globally via DHL.
- Initial Purchase Insurance: For the first delivery from the workshop to the customer, all instruments are fully insured by MAG Instruments.
- In the event of a lost or damaged package, the customer must provide video or photographic evidence of the unpacking immediately upon arrival.
- MAG Instruments will handle the claim with the courier. The process can take several months.
5. Right of Withdrawal (Cancellation)
- According to EU regulations, customers have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of paying their registration designing fee, as well as within 14 days of receiving the final physical item. In the case of returning a completed instrument, the customer is responsible for the cost and safe return shipment of the instrument in its original condition.
6. Lifetime Retuning Warranty
- Scope: This warranty covers labor for standard retuning (correction of natural pitch drift) for the entire lifespan of the instrument. The warranty follows the instrument (transferable).
- Video Pre-Check: Before any shipment, a “Retuning Request” with a video of each note played individually must be submitted. Shipment is only permitted after receiving a written “Tuning Authorization”.
- Exclusions: Does not cover physical damage (dents, drops), surface oxidation (rust), or scratches. The warranty is void if unauthorized third-party modifications are made without prior written consent from MAG Instruments.
- Warranty Shipping & Liability: If the video pre-check confirms that retuning is necessary, shipping costs are shared: the customer covers the cost of shipping the instrument to the MAG Instruments workshop, and MAG Instruments covers the return shipping cost back to the customer. We strongly recommend the customer purchases full-value shipping insurance, as MAG Instruments does not provide transit insurance for these shipments.
- Maintenance Requirement: To maintain the validity of the Lifetime Retuning Warranty, the instrument must be properly cared for according to MAG Instruments’ official maintenance and storing guidelines, including regular and appropriate cleaning. The warranty does not cover retuning required due to metal fatigue or structural degradation resulting from neglect or improper maintenance.
7. Intellectual Property & Customer Content
- Marketing Use: MAG Instruments reserves the right to use customer-generated content (photos/videos featuring our instruments) for marketing and social media purposes.
8. Data Protection (GDPR & Mailing List)
- MAG Instruments Kft. handles customer data (name, address, email) solely for order fulfillment and warranty tracking in compliance with EU GDPR regulations. By purchasing an instrument, you automatically agree to be added to our general mailing list to receive our latest news, updates, and exclusive information. You may unsubscribe from this list at any time. For full details on how we collect, store, and protect your personal data, please refer to our comprehensive Privacy Policy available on our website.
9. Limitation of Liability
- MAG Instruments is not liable for damages caused by improper use or unauthorized modifications.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping partners or customs processes.
10. Customs, Duties, and Taxes
- For orders shipped outside the European Union, all applicable import duties, customs fees, local taxes, and handling charges are the sole responsibility of the customer. MAG Instruments is not responsible for any additional financial charges incurred during customs clearance, nor for any shipping delays caused by customs procedures in the destination country.
11. Force Majeure
- MAG Instruments shall not be held liable for any delays in production, custom crafting, or delivery caused by unforeseeable circumstances beyond our reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, raw material shortages, severe illness, natural disasters, strikes, or global logistical disruptions.
