About the Amara Scale

The Amara scale is similar to the Kurd but there is a slight difference between them: it omits the 6th degree of the minor scale, which makes its sound more clear, brilliant and open.

This tiny change makes Amara’s voice fresh, perfect for players seeking a minor scale with an airy quality.

Sound:

• Bright and clear, with more sense of space than the Kurd.
• Maintains a minor tonality but with a lighter, less dense atmosphere.
• Great for both smooth melodies and rhythmic playing.

Structure:

• Similar to Kurd but lacks the 6th degree of the minor scale.
• Versions with extended bottom notes often include the missing tone, enabling a full minor
• Scale experience.
• Easy to play for beginners, yet offers depth for advanced players.
